Welcome Address
My dear brothers and sisters in Saint Dominic,
On behalf of the Vietnamese Dominican Family, I would like to welcome all of you, 86 altogether, coming here for the gathering of the leadership of the Dominican Family in Asia Pacific. I would like to especially welcome the guests from Santa Sabina, members of the General Curia.
We are now at the retreat house of the sisters of Saint Paul de Chartres. These sisters have been present in Vietnam for more than 150 years. This house is popularly called "The White House" (Yes the White house, but not the White House in Washington DC, USA). This has been called the White House because it was painted all white; or perhaps the sisters' habits are all white.
